Red velvet Cake- lightly chocolate buttermilk cake with traditional cream cheese frosting
Birthday Cake: yellow cake filled with chocolate fudge buttercream
Southern caramel cake: thin layers of yellow chiffon cake filled with caramel buttercream
Coconut cake: coconut buttermilk cake with white meringue frosting and coated in coconut.
Pineapple upside-down cake: yellow butter cake layered with a brown sugar pineapple filling
German chocolate cake: soft chocolate cake filled with a pecan-coconut filling
Lane cake: lightly spiced white cake with a boozy fruit filling and white cooked frosting
Marble pound cake: moist, decadent pound cake flavored with vanilla bean and rich chocolate
Lemon pound cake: classic citrus pound cake with a zesty powdered sugar glaze
Dear customers and friends,
Three years ago, a friend convinced me that I could (and should) sell the desserts that I was creating and giving away. I have always felt that creating and sharing food was an expression of love. Baking was... is... my medium for creating art. Moreover, it is my way of building a community. Connections. Bonds. Family. I struggled with placing a value on that gift. Can you take something from your hands and your heart and make it into a business? I had always dreamed of owning my own business but finding the courage to leap takes incredible courage. So many people supported me, prayed for me, and challenged me that with the loving support of my family and friends, I decided to chase my dream.
Soon, the hardest and most rewarding adventure of my life began when I decided to open The Country Bakeress Kitchen & Studio. From the very beginning, you have made me feel welcome and through your continuous support, inspired me to try harder and create more. You have given me a chance to be a part of your life celebrations from birthdays, weddings, births, graduations, retirement, holidays, and many other happy events. I have always taken great pride and satisfaction in the quality of my products and have tried my best to warrant the faith shown in me. From the incredibly supportive and positive feedback I received, I believe I have met your expectations.
Unfortunately, 2020 has brought unforeseen and genuinely unimaginable events to our lives. Events that have forced me to take the most difficult decision of my professional life. I am closing The Country Bakeress kitchen.
I hope you have felt and tasted the love and passion that I have put into every dessert. I decided from the start to never compromise the excellence of the product I made for my customers. Every muffin, every pie, every cookie would be given the same love and devotion as the wedding cake for 200 of your nearest and dearest. I pray that I succeeded.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful support and love you have shown over the years. Building this wonderful bakery and creating the best desserts my customers have ever tasted has been my dream and my privilege.
The dream does not come to an end with the closing of a brick and mortar building. My passion will always be to make sweet celebrations even sweeter, no matter the location.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of the Pittsboro community. I have no doubt that we will recover and flourish in the future. I choose to believe that I have succeeded in realizing my dream and that the future will hold new opportunities. I thank you for every order and every kind word. I thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a part of your celebrations. I will continue to honor current contracts but will not be accepting future orders for now. I do not actually know what the next step will be for the Bakeress, but I know this… it has been an incredible ride!!!
